“Robin sings a mixture of his own compositions and covers of his favourite song-writers, such as Ray Davies. His skills as a guitarist are very much to the fore, and he mixes vocals with instrumental pieces, linking them all together with poetry and some personal reflections on life. Robin is a Christian who seeks to share his faith in a laid-back and non-threatening way. His songs and poems are thoughtful, perceptive and often wry, with a frequent sting in the tail. His album, "Growing Old Disgracefully" is available for purchase during the evening, and several songs from the album are featured in his set. Robin has a warm and engaging manner, and presents his material well. The evening was well received by this audience and I feel that "An Evening with Robin Childs" would be suitable for many other settings - whether church-based or secular. I am happy to commend Robin to other potential event organisers."
Stephen Biddall - Minister of Pier Avenue Baptist Church, Clacton. June 2006.
